Beneath the iconic American flag just past hole #1 you’ll see a new ‘feature’ to the golf course at Pine Hollow Little Par 3. A beautiful headstone pays tribute to founder, Robert L’Heureux.
Bob was a much loved fixture at the course he built in 1961, staying active through his 97 years and making friends with the many customers – both regulars and first-timers – to his little par 3 golf course.
“The secret to a long life is friendship,” Bob would share with all he met. “You smiled at me; that means you are my new friend.”
That last phrase, which so epitomized his life, is lovingly etched on the stone. Although Bob will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, his passion for the game of golf and the many memories shared by those who had the privilege of being his ‘new friend’ will carry on.
